Brew Guitar Duo “Songs and Dances”

songsndancessmallThe Brew Guitar Duo released their newest CD “Songs and Dances“  in a live performance at Wig & Pen (how appropriate – a brewery) on 8 November.  The official launch took place on 13 Nov in Canberra at Wesley Music Centre in the first performance of their 2009 Australia Tour.  The CD can be obtained through their website www.brewguitarduo.com.

Oscar Herrero – Flamenco guitar

Spanish guitarist and master of flamenco guitar Oscar Herrero, accompanied by leading Australian guitarist Timothy Kain, gave a great concert on 12 October 2009 on the occasion of the National Day of Spain in a program that commemorated the centenary of Isaac Albeniz’s death.herrero The program included:

Classical Guitar Society Orchestra adds colour to Floriade

Canberra Classical Guitar Society’s Guitar Orchestra recently performed during the Spanish Embassy Concert at Floriade. The orchestra played six short pieces with a Spanish theme (and on “Spanish Guitars” of course). Victor Matthews, Matthew Towicz, Milena Cifali and Mark Norton also performed solo and duo pieces to complete the program. Here are some photos (courtesy of Bill McIntyre).
